The National Conference on Energy and Environment was attended by well over One Hundred and Fifty (150) participants drawn from academic community outside and within the University of Benin. Profile of participants include; scientists, engineers, undergraduate and postgraduate students.
The objective of the conference was to provide interdisciplinary forum for researchers, engineers, academicians and industrial professionals to present and discuss the most recent innovations, practical challenges and solutions in the field of Renewable Energy and Environmental Technology, enhance collaboration between scientists from different research fields with the aim to establishing a common framework for interdisciplinary based systems, to promote innovation, clean energy and energy efficiency/conservation research and development (R &D) in order to accelerate the deployment of cleaner technologies, support indigenous Research and Development in Environmental and Renewable Energy technologies and innovations through capacity building, foster institutional and National capacity to enhance compliance to existing environmental Laws and enforcement programmes in Nigerian and build effective partnerships between all relevant stakeholders essential to sustainable energy and environmental development in Nigeria.
A total of forty-one (41) research papers were received out which nineteen (19) were presented across sub-themes of Energy and Environment. Overall, this conference was a success in line with the aim and objectives. Please click here to download the proceedings of the Conference
